There is no Uber or Bolt ride-hailing in Luxembourg, so plan around free public transport and Webtaxi. Because buses, trams and second-class trains are free, you do not need a ticket app at all unless you travel first class or cross the border.
Can you rely on free Wi-Fi?
Free Wi-Fi is easy to find in Luxembourg: the airport, hotels, cafés, museums, many CFL trains and city-run hotspots in the capital all offer it. Quality is uneven. Café networks are fine for maps and messages but slow at peak hours, hotspots often drop when you walk between them, and several ask you to accept terms again every session, which breaks navigation halfway up a staircase in the Grund. Treat Wi-Fi as a bonus for big downloads in the hotel, and let the eSIM handle the day.
Local SIM card or eSIM in Luxembourg?
POST, Tango and Orange all sell prepaid starter packs, and you will find their shops in Luxembourg City around the Gare and the city centre, in Belval and in the larger shopping centres.
