Which islands does this plan cover?

Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. The networks are the same Spanish ones used across the archipelago.

Do I need this plan if I already have the Spain or Europe eSIM?

No. The Canary Islands are part of Spain, so both the FairSIM Spain plan and the Europe plan work there. This plan is for trips that stay in the islands.

Does it work on the mainland?

This plan is set for Spain, so it works on the mainland and in the Balearics as well. If most of your trip is in Madrid or Barcelona, the Spain page is the more natural fit.

Will I have signal on the ferry between islands?

Near the ports, usually yes. In the middle of a crossing you often drop out, since ships rely on their own satellite links that no eSIM covers.

Is there 5G in the Canary Islands?

Yes, in the main urban and resort areas. Vodafone Espana S.A.U., Orange (Spain) and Telefonica de Espana S.A.U. all run 5G there. Rural and mountain areas fall back to 4G LTE.

Can I keep my home number?

Yes. The FairSIM eSIM is data only and sits alongside your normal SIM, so calls and texts on your home number still arrive if you leave that line on. Turn off roaming for the home line to avoid charges.

How much data do I need for a week in the islands?

About 5 GB covers maps, ferry and flight apps, messaging and photos for a typical week. Double it if you stream in the evenings or work from the apartment.

What is an eSIM?

A SIM card built into your phone. Instead of a plastic chip, you download a profile. Every iPhone since the XS has one next to the physical SIM slot, so your home number stays put while FairSIM supplies the data.

Is my phone compatible?

FairSIM works with eSIM-compatible, carrier-unlocked iPhones: the XS, XR and everything newer, on iOS 17.4 or later for the one-tap install with no QR code. iPhones bought in mainland China do not support eSIM at all, even when unlocked. When should I install my eSIM?

Before you travel, while you still have Wi-Fi. Installing does not start your plan; the validity typically starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination.

Do FairSIM eSIMs come with a phone number?

No. FairSIM eSIMs are data-only by design, which keeps costs low. For calls and texts, your physical SIM stays active so you keep your existing number, and WhatsApp, FaceTime and iMessage work over data.
