Connectivity tips for Poland
Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi and switch data on when you land at Warsaw Chopin, Kraków or Gdańsk. It connects to Orange or T-Mobile automatically.

Pendolino and EIC trains have free Wi-Fi, but your eSIM is faster on most of the Warsaw to Kraków line.

Auschwitz-Birkenau entry is free but must be reserved online under your name, and summer slots go weeks ahead, so book before you land.
Can you rely on free Wi-Fi?
Widespread and decent. PKP Intercity offers free Wi-Fi on all EIC trains and some international ones, and about 120 stations have a free _PKP_WIFI network. Cafés, malls and hotels almost always share a password. Quality drops on regional trains and outside the cities.
Local SIM card or eSIM in Poland?
Polish prepaid is among the cheapest in Europe. A starter SIM costs 5 to 25 zł at Żabka kiosks, supermarkets and operator shops. Play's 30-day M pack is about 35 zł for 40 GB with unlimited local calls, and Orange, Plus and T-Mobile sell 25 to 30 GB for a similar price. Since July 2016 every SIM must be registered before it works. For non-EU visitors that means a passport at an operator shop or a partner kiosk, not the supermarket checkout.
For most visits a travel eSIM is the simpler choice: no passport at a counter, no activation wait, no physical SIM swap, and the Europe regional plan works across the EU. A local SIM only wins if you need a Polish number for a long stay.
